We used sports drink ingredients to make our own, more natural smoothie that offers carbs, protein, electrolytes and potassium. What's missing is the heavy dose of salt. Try this when the kids are out in the sun and need fluids and nutrients replenished! This drink is based on a recipe from EatingWell.
Ingredients
- 1 cup chilled pure coconut water, unsweetened
- 1 cup nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- 3 Tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 2 cups ice
- (The kids also suggested adding strawberries)
Instructions
Blend everything in a blender until smooth. That’s it!
